Have you had a Stuffed Animal Day (or Teddy Bear Day) yet this school year? It is one of the most engaging days that I have with my students multiple times a year and it’s something that I make sure to keep in my classroom management toolkit!
In its simplest form, this day doesn’t have to cost you a dime. All you really need is for each student to bring a stuffed animal or teddy bear from home. That’s it!
But if you want to make the day extra special and memorable for your students, here are a few things that I recommend:
Extra Stuffed Animals
Students are heart broken when they forget their stuffed animal at home and some students might not even have a stuffed animal or teddy bear. To make sure every student gets to enjoy this special day, I like to keep some extras in my classroom. Here is a set with a bunch of mini farm animals and here is a set of Squishmallows. (Are your students obsessed with these too?)
Stuffed Animal Themed Printable Worksheets and Activities
Instead of your same daily routine, shake it up a little on Stuffed Animal Day! Make the day extra exciting with these themed activities:
Stuffed Animal or Teddy Bear Books
Display a collection of stuffed animal and teddy bear themed books. Students can read them to their cuddly companion or you can read them aloud. Here are a few of my favorites:
Knuffle Bunny
The Teddy Bears’ Picnic
Biscuit and the Lost Teddy Bear
Super Stuffed Animal Award
End the day by passing out Super Stuffed Animal Awards! These are a freebie so make sure to download them. Here are two ways to use these:
1. Every student (and stuffy) gets an award at the end of the day.
2. Use them as an incentive for positive behavior. Pass them out to the stuffed animals that followed expectations the best today. Read more about my Stuffed Animal Day expectations here!
