Simple & Effective Elementary Resources
Hi Teachers! My motto is simple & effective because as you know, teachers are busy people. We need engaging resources that work. But they also need to be simple for students to understand and easily implementable for us. I keep these things in mind with everything that I create.
Themed Learning Days
One of my favorite things to do with my students when they need a break from our typical daily routine is to have a themed learning day. We still hit all of our grade level standards but center our learning around a fun theme such as these. My students love them so much that they are often one of the free incentives that my students vote on as their class prize! These are also great for last minute sub plans.
Stuffed Animal Day
Have students bring their stuffed animal to school for the day and they will be so engaged as they participate in stuffed animal themed activities all day long! I get twice as much engagement on these days because students like to respond as themselves and also as their stuffy! 😉
Grocery Shopping Day
Students will be engaged in math, reading, writing and SEL activities all day long as they learn to grocery shop, create a budget and write recipes for a classroom cookbook!
Superhero Day
Students can come dressed up as their favorite superhero as they participate in superhero-themed math, reading and writing activities all day long!
Free Read Aloud Recommendations
Finding the perfect read aloud for your students can sometimes be tricky and time consuming. You can have free access to Google Slides that I made that have the Amazon and Youtube links to over 100 Children’s Read Aloud Recommendations. They are organized for your convenience by categories such as: social emotional topics, holiday/seasonal and cultures around the world.
Year-Long Creative Writing Journals
This is a set of 11 creative writing journals best for 1st-3rd grade students. Each journal includes a total of 25 fun and kid-friendly writing prompts: opinion, narrative and explanation prompts are all included. Your students will be excited to see what the next prompt is and they will be used to the consistency with this year long set! 2 page styles are included: picture box & primary lines or only primary lines.
